The price can cost between $ 40 and $ 60 USD, depending on the number of passengers. It is more comfortable and safe service, they use tourist transport with large vehicles and professional drivers.

If you want to travel safely, I recommend private transportation. They charge $ 35 USD and will take you safely to your final destination in Antigua Guatemala. You can also use the Airport Taxi, you can find them at the exit door. You may have to wait a few hours for the next shuttle to depart.Īnother option is Uber, the rates range from $ 25 to $ 35 USD and it works quite well, just keep in mind that most vehicles are small (hatchback type) and space is limited for luggage and passengers. Unfortunately, the service does not operate all day, but the hours vary according to the demand of passengers. There are several companies that offer the service that costs around $ 15 USD per person. If you are looking to save money you can take the shared Shuttle from the Airport. Rush hours are Monday through Friday from 4 pm to 7 pm and Saturday at noon. I book those flights through an agency, confirm the day ahead, and arrive at the airport when they suggest (usually 2 hours ahead) because I've seen them overbooked many times and don't want to be left without a seat. The distance between Guatemala City and La Antigua is 45 kilometers (28 miles) The trip takes between 1 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Here are 2 transportation providers I’ve been pleased with in Guatemala for share shuttles, private transfers, and flight arrangements:

Private drivers will pick you up and drop you off wherever you ask them to on your schedule. I'm not speaking from personal experience there and also don't know if the share shuttles will drop you at the domestic terminal so hopefully others will chime in. I think there would be taxis around but not in the quantity or the stacks of share shuttles like you see as you exit GUA. It's TAG that leaves from a different terminal. I've always flown that route on Taca/Avianca and they leave from the same terminal as the international flights so no problem there.
